What is Laser Dentistry?
Laser dentistry is a precise way to perform many dental procedures. A focused beam allows us to treat targeted areas without disturbing the surrounding tissue.

What are some of the procedures that are enhanced by our Soft Tissue Laser?
  • Gum Reshaping - if you have a 'gummy' smile we can reshape your gum line to expose the healthy natural tooth structure underneath.
  • Denture Comfort - poorly fitted dentures can create soft tissue folds. Our soft tissue laser can be used for comfortable and suture-free removal of this tissue.
  • Preparation for other Treatments - lasers are ideal for preparing the gums for Endodontic procedures, treating periodontal disease, teeth whitening and other cosmetic and restorative treatments.
What are the Benefits of Laser Dentistry?

Laser dentistry has numerous advantages over traditional treatments. These include: Faster and more accurate treatment, faster healing, less patient discomfort, less anesthesia during treatment, and less post-op discomfort.

Healing time depends on the treatment received but is generally only takes between 4 - 7 days. Lasers stimulate the gum tissue, directly speeding up healing time and minimizing discomfort. Patients describe the post-op feeling as of having their gums lightly scratched.

Are Dental Lasers Safe?
When used properly dental lasers are very safe, precise and predictable. Our dental care professionals are certified to use soft tissue lasers.

Laser dentistry represents a step forward in the practice of dentistry. If you would like to learn more about the benefits of laser treatments please don't hesitate to ask us on your next visit!
